Every child is different, and every child lives in unique circumstances. However, we focus on a core set of evidence-based approaches to help our youngest clients. You’ll find our different services and approaches on this page, but know that we are committed to helping you find the best approach for your child. Request an appointment or more information.

Individual Counseling

This approach is often what people think of when they think of counseling: an interaction between a trained professional and someone looking for help on a regular basis. It’s much the same for children but often involves elements of play and other child-friendly activities. We don’t limit ourselves to any one theory or modality but often pull from Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused counseling approaches, Mindfulness techniques, Positive Psychology, Emotionally Focused, Internal Family Systems, Somatic, and Motivational Interviewing.

Children’s Life Coaching

Life coaching is extremely popular with adults, but many people don’t know that it is also highly effective for children. Life coaching helps build the foundation for personal success. For kids, that can include some extra help in learning manners, respect, consideration of others, honesty, and other elements of good character. Even better: Most children say that life coaching is fun!

For many children, life coaching sessions are a great way to provide an opportunity to learn a skillset before an identified mental health struggle appears. With life coaching, children learn to identify what anxiety or anger is before they encounter problems, meaning they can effectively manage those situations without a significant disruption to their emotional state or everyday functioning.

ADHD Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can result in a variety of negative outcomes for children. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. With proper diagnosis and treatment, children can reach their full potential in school and life. We offer a three-session assessment that can diagnose whether ADHD is affecting your child. Once diagnosed, we help children learn strategies for not letting ADHD hold them back, and offer treatment options when parents are ready to try medication.

Safe and Sound Protocol

For children dealing with sound-based sensitivities or looking to improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation and social engagements, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) can help through filtered music listening sessions. This evidence-backed approach helps retune the nervous system from being on “defense” back into a natural state of social engagement.
